This week we started to dig deeper into tragedy. We did our second tragedy blog post which I found a lot easier partly because I liked the idea of the second blog post. The blog post was also easier because I had a better understanding of how long you wanted it be, and I had come to understand the Harris moves much better. The TED Talk by Alain de Botton was really interesting because it focused on why many people can be very successful, but never feel like they measure up. The answer to this question is precisely what I thought it would be. It is the fact that we live in a society that judges people by their accomplishments in life, and since we as a society believe that we are the drivers of our lives we see failure often as something that is deserved. I think the idea that failure is deserved is a idea that people think, but often are not willing to admit because it means if we fail than: We aren't meant to be successful. I found the blog post that followed this TED Talk was really easy for me because I found the topic really interesting. Overall, I have learned that I find it easier to write about anything when I thoroughly enjoy the topic I am writing about.
