This week in AP Lit we watched the This I Believe projects. It was interesting to me to see what other people put because of the nature of the project. One thing I noticed about this project was that some people didn't really go into great detail about what got them to that belief. Without their being a story behind how they got to that belief it left me with more questions rather than answers. Then there were ones that were very personal, and I enjoyed them because I was able to understand how they got to that belief. The more personal ones also allowed you to understand a part of the person's life that maybe you didn't know about. For example, Kirstynn Krupp's This I Believe was amazing because it was personal, and the images she chose were great. In other words, a personal story is what makes the project. I also really liked Sloan's This I Believe because like Kirstynn's it was personal, and presented the message that we should be kind regardless of who it is.
With my project I found it easy to find my topic because I have a very personal story which has taught me a lot. Even though I definitely think this is a great project I feel some people might not have a very personal experience yet so it is harder for them. The one thing I would recommend that you do for future students is to focus on writing in a conversational tone because I definitely thought that was the hardest part.
