This week in AP Lit we worked on our Independent Reading projects. With this project I have learned how to spot the small differences in the text, and make connections to other sources because of those small differences. For example, Macbeth focuses on the impact of unchecked ambition on the individual while The Death of Ivan Ilych focuses on the broader impact of ambition. Therefore, I found the similarities and differences part of the paper to be very easy for me. When I first started to implement my outside sources I was a little lost as to where to put them in the paper because mine were mostly non fictional in nature.
In creating the presentation I have learned how to carefully select images so that my images have a powerful effect on my audience. With the project being more images orientated I was concerned because my slides don't tend to look great. However, the video that we watched about creating slides helped to understand what I had been doing wrong. The project has also increased my confidence in my ability to give a oral presentation. I know that increased confidence is from knowing my topic very well, but that is important to me because sometimes I have speech anxiety.
Overall, I enjoyed this project because it taught me a lot, and the format of the Pecha Kucha slide benefits our oral presentation skills. I would definitely keep the video about creating slides because I know that helped me a lot.
