This week we presented our What is Literature? projects. I found it really interesting how the other groups that had symbolism and fantasy came to relatively similar conclusions that I had. Though there were other groups that had the same stories, but interpreted the main message of the story to be different. That is the one thing I find really fascinating about literature is the fact that two different people can interpret the same piece in different ways. For example, Bo and Ellie interpreted The Most Dangerous Game to be about people are willing to do to survive. I found that being one of the last people to present let me see how others organized their presentations, and how they transitioned from slide to slide. Watching other presentations I noticed how others formatted there slides some with more images, and others being more text based. I have learned from my presentation that I need to present my slides with less text, and find ways to make my slides more visually appealing to my audience. One thing that I noticed about my presentation was that it contained less filler words such as um than other presentations. I am proud of this because in my Speech class at Central we focus heavily on trying to limit filler words. I was also very happy with the fact that Mr. Schoenborn noted that I appeared very confident and poised because part of my grade for my speech two on Monday is based on this.
